So as I have been playing solo more and more, I have had the chance to listen to the exchanges between my character (male DH) and the Enchantress. Some things they say are funny, some not so much, and others elude to lore and back story not covered elsewhere. I thought then that it might be fun for the forum trawlers to have a place to talk about their favorite follower conversations.

The one that sticks out to me at the moment goes something like this:

Me: Do you ever write your own spells?
Enchantress: Of course! Don't you?
Me: I'd rather not talk about it.

What is up with that? Why would he even ask if he doesn't want to talk about it? What are they trying to suggest about the DH?

My first reaction when I read that was to imagine a younger version of the Demon Hunter trying to dabble in magic they would have been better off not touching. I got the feeling that the Demon Hunter hero suffered a terrible amount of loss in their life, so I feared what sort of well-intentioned spells they might have tried to craft in their younger years to combat their loss and the growing demon armies. Might they have tried to tap into taboo magic? Could it have resulted in horribly back-fired spells similar to those of the Elric brothers in the anime series Fullmetal Alchemist?

It certainly makes me wonder about the back story behind the Demon Hunter, and many other heroes and followers.
