Diablo 3 Blue Posts » Is the client download site down?

Detectable
Hey. When I logged on today, the game would crash after a few seconds on the login screen. I'm guessing this is due to a power outage I had earlier. This happened about ten times, so I gave up and went looking for the repair tool (like world of warcraft got) but there was none.

So I deleted the game, and went to the website to download the client again. But all I get when I try to click on D3 is "An error has occurred." and nothing more.

So I dug up my old Setup-file from another machine, and tried to install using that one. But after it downloads a little bit, it just give me the error "Failed to download a required update. Please check your internet connection and try again."
Obviously I have an internet connection, as I am here typing on the forum.

Anyone have any clue? Or is the part of the site that lets you download game clients just down? Would love it if anyone cared to check ;)

Hmm. Could you try using a different Internet browser to initiate the client download Detectable and see if that works?

OK, I just tested it myself and it worked fine, but I have received one other report on Twitter in the last few minutes (unless that was you?)

I will keep my eye on it.

Oh, just to make sure: you are not trying to download the PTR client are you? The PTR is currently in maintenance and this may affect the client download for the next few hours.

OK, we've found the issue. It's an unexpected side effect of some background maintenance which should be over in the next few hours so please try again later this evening. Apologies for the inconvenience in the meantime.
