Hope they scale hp and resistance. Life link looks like a nice treat for pvp if dogs can take a few hits.

Well we dont know how they are going to scale with your level so a realistic answer isn't possible. But you can use 3 passives that will help their survivability :

1)Jungle Fortitude(reduces dmg taken by you and your pets by 20%)
2)Zombie handler(you can have 4 dogs at once and increass their life by 20%)
3)Fierce loyalty(pets get 100% benefit of your thorns and life regeneration items)

to be honest, I think dogs will mostly be used for sacrifice damage and to act as a distraction. Other than that, I don't see pets being too useful in a PvP setting.

I dont see them being of any use except for a minimal distraction for the wd to keep people of of him/her. Im sure they will get one shotted by anything

Agree...dunno if a pvp build  with 2 skills (Zombie dogs and sacrifice) will be viable.Sacrifice is totally useful when your build uses skills and passives that boost Zombie dogs number, mostly used in a pve build because of the aoe boost.I mean in pvp you can probably use other skills than these 2 that will add a single target damage(dots etc)

WD is support in pvp, with Voodoo, Hex, Fear.  More like support/healer (with Runes).  Not the best for DPS in PVP.  And Dogs are pretty much crap after the debuff.

Don't personally think pets will be as central to WD as they are to Hunters in WoW when it comes to PvP. Other than sacrifice I don't really see a point of having the dogs. Is there something I'm missing?

Except the aoe dmg from sacrifice Zombie dogs can be useful with the proper runes and skills to be more tanky and hold the aggro while you stand back and spam your skills.

Are you referring to the Black Blood rune which adds the slow? In that case I'd rather just have grasp of the dead.

the problem with sacrifice in pvp is that you got a big cd on your dogs, they onky go 9% weapon dmg thats really low, so i wouldn't mind them being a little stronger iven if its just so you can put the locust swarm on your enemy

but i guess the gargantuan will do a better job in surviving

I don't think so. Sacrificing builds require a lot of different passives / skills to be matched up I think. I suppose if you were to try and burst someone from half hp with Sacc'ing, but honestly now you're out a dog (loss of Life Link) and the cd is 60s, I think DoT's/Fear are better used, especially with our Fire/Posion combo I'm thinking people are not paying attention to that moreso.

Even if they don't die the question is will it worth the skill slot to use them in PVP? Guess we will only know it when the game is released.
