Honestly though, co-op seems much more accessible in this game. May just end up going co-op only. I really hope they have given the followers customizable AI's. That would make them far more usable

I'll be wizard so I guess I'll need a strong Templar by my side. What is your pick?

If you guys need to know more about it.. here's the link
I agree when using a wizard I like a melee npc to help me for close combat while I hang back and fire away

Yes but there is a very strong possibility that monsters will still attack you. As a result assuming that the Templar can tank for you is an overstatement. The wizard needs crowd control more than anything.

The enchantress allows glass canon to have its -10% armor effect negated. Essentially granting you extra damage and an occasional slowed enemy onslaught in addition to the crowd control ability.

Can we take all the followers on 1 char? I don't mean at the same time but can we let's say choose to use the templar 1 time then go for scoundrel and use the templar again, all on 1 char?

"Only one follower can accompany you at a time, so you’ll want to choose carefully. Though each follower has skills to complement any play style or class, they also possess very different areas of expertise.
For example, the Enchantress can learn to create illusions to draw enemy fire away. The Templar can master the ability to intimidate his foes, slowing them when they close in combat. The Scoundrel can learn to use blinding powder, which can distract enemies or make them easier targets.
Followers act on their own and the skills you select for them will dictate their behavior in combat. They can also equip a variety of items and weapons, including several unique to their class."

Templar seems like the obvious choice.  Something to get beat on while you rain down firey death from above.

I do not want to go the sterotypical route, but if you choose a caster (Wiz) then you need a tank or heals (why templar has both!)

Templar it is :-/

Yeah but if you watch beta videos you see that the templar always follows the player or actually falls behind, never leads which is what tanks generally do.
