i think blizzard wel be pretty strict about this and not allow mods,as for hackers they are never allowed so they will keep an eye out for it,im already glad we wont have to deal with bots so much i hated all that spam filling my screen in the middle of big fights lol

As far as I know, they've done a good job in WoW and SC2. So lets hope D3 will be hacker-safe for a while...

yeah wow and sc2 have done a good job with hackers, they will do the same with d3 no doubt

Well Blizzard sure is doing a good job against hackers.. limitations such as no modding and online only are going to be hackers' nightmare.

I'm sure they will be on top of it with everything they got (sounds dirty somehow...), they did a decent job in WoW and SC2 like Chrome said. They are aware of what happened to D2 and they'll want to prevent that from happening again.

The main reason the bots took over is , blizzard put d2 in the closet and only took it out on its birthday lol

Judging by how they have handled World of Wacraft. I think we will be okay. The main thing here is there is no single player game. So like in diablo 2, They cant even play online with their singleplayer character.
Makes it much harder to hack when the data is not stored on the computer

Well security systems have evolved a lot since D2 so I think you shouldn't worry about this

For D3 to be online only and having most of the content on their severs its going to be pretty tough for hackers and modders

Blizzard modified the item storage method to avoid the duping cheats. I hope that they can give as a hack and cheat free game:)

with the always online system it should keep spammers bot away! the only place you may find bots might be in illegal servers.

Probably not the spammers, that's just impossible to prevent but botters and hackers should be easily detectable.
And I agree with the previous posts that these were a true pain in D2
Zerue aka Zeroci aka Zer0c aka Forte4x, if you like my comments - clicky above ^

i think the security of Diablo III will be even greater then that of Wow and sc2 . Why you ask? because there is real money involved .. i can imagine someone being marked for a hack if they have nice gear or much gold..
Don't turn your back.

Blizzard has a whole department dedicated to stopping hackers and modders. You can e-mail Blizzard at [email protected] for more information. Blizzard has had several years of experienced dealing with people trying to get an unfair advantage in the game. Diablo 3 is going to be one of the safest games hack-free games to come out in years.
