As title said some developers of diablo have already said that they don't want to make the game competive and they don't want to balance the game around pvp.

I never really got into PVP in Diablo II because it was so flawed (in my opinion). Really with D3 they had the opportunity to turn that around and create a rich PVP system. I don't see why they're against it, having a good competitive structure in a game really makes it playable long term. It's something to keep coming back for, and a reason to trade and grind out those better item drops.

Yea it makes me sad as a counter-strike player i love playing competitively I think the community will find ways to make it more competitive

Competive in diablo 3 is fail...and when the game is released u will see why pvp is for fun...there are so many builds, blizz cant really balance it...was in D2 a competive pvp szene? NO

Well pvp will not be as impornant as Wow(for example) it will be just a nice plus for the sensation of the game

Yes it's kinda sad but what I like is they still give us pvp players possibilities to do what we want in sense of arena and maybe somekind of world pvp (dunno about this for sure). It's just not priority one when it comes tuning the abilities and balance of classes :/.

Players and community is in big part here, I just hope people will be active like they did on diablo 2 scene. I kinda bet they do !

I dunno, depend of what you mean. You know, when I see games like LoL/HoN who are very competitive, most of the players on here are just a bunch of whining kids and flamers.

I'd rather play some random arenas, having fun killing people and that's all. No need to read things like " NOOB ! You suck, Uninstall ! " etc...

But, i'd love to see more pvp mode like CTF maybe

I loved PvP in diablo 2 until "Iths" "Whites" and all other hacked items came around. I hope D3 never runs into the problem D2 did with the items and botting situations. I wanna play with players like me. Not dupers botters and hackers.

It's a coop game. But eventually, there will be stuff for PvPers. Blizzard wont deny community.

I'm really happy with that direction. I've seen how much WoW was screwed by them constantly trying to balance two games in one. I'm in this for PvE, if PvP is your cup of tea, there are plenty of games that focus solely on that.

There will be PvP-leagues with skill/runes/item-restrictions to handle the balance like in D2.

They were pretty close to make a perfect arena game in World of Warcraft, if they only put some effort into it I feel like they could create something really great in diablo 3..
