Contrary to popular opinion I think the glass cannon passive is impractical. Once you're done with normal the difficulty of everything is 10+ times harder and things will kill you in an instant due to reduced armor and resistances. So its good up until go to the nightmare difficulty.

As the ablility says you will be a glass canon, so I hope everyone using this won't charge "stone threwer"
Be serious, who on this planet will ever using this not having a tank drew the attention for you?
I hope people playing SC won't have a opinion like " if I die I can ressurect, so why not just dying for mass damage", because it will destroy the groups
Even you won't find this anyway on NM+ or HC

Well your a wizard not a tank there is certenatly a way to make it work later in game, general wiz tactic isnt to take damage at all but it happen more often then you would want so you have to think how to get out and CC the mobs, I dont think a 10% will hurt that much more you would still take massive amouth even whit regular armor.
Edit aftehr patch 13th - OKay now I agree drop to 15% not worth it

I have to agree that If ure soloing the game in late game it would be less practical for survival, but in a party it would be a different story.

Well that depends. Hopefully most damage in the game will be avoidable with quick movement etc. So that if you are skilled enough glass cannon will be usefull

They nerfed glass cannon to 15% damage increase, so it's even less desirable now.

Well its too bad they nerfed it but with the right build combination I can still see it getting some use in harder difficulties.
Less so in Hardcore where a minor mistake could lead to perma death.
With a proper setup of snares with a high output of dmg I can see this being perfectly viable.

yeah my guess is that many will underestimate the higher levels of hell and inferno, but more inferno!!!
i'm gonna stay on normal for at least 2 runs before proceeding!

I don't think it's that bad... right? I mean if you go play solo i can see why it would not be a good passive... But if you are in a group i think it's pretty nice dealing some more damage

Agree with Araloth..where is the problem if u make +% extra dmg when u play in group?

You can not always avoid damage, this skill is a liability for the group. If you get 1 shotted you just failed your group. A dead wizard has no dps. I doubt you'll see this skill in higher difficulties.

i dont know.. in my opinion that can work in a higher difficult
#-3 Posted 20 February 2012 - 09:22 AM By
Glass Cannon can work well on higher difficulties but probably not without a party to protect you and tank for you. You would still need to be careful and I doubt it will be highly used in hardcore.

The fact that they nerfed glass cannon makes me think that it will be viable, even late game. The trade off must not have been costly enough before. It seems to me like 20% extra damage all the time will be pretty sick, you just have to be good at avoiding hits. It's all going to come down to individual play style.
