Hello Mac Gamers,

How does the game run on Mac OS X Lion?

As being one of the million unlucky ones without a Diablo 3 beta key I went back to Diablo 2.
But unfortunate it did not run on Mac OS X Lion.
So I had to install a version of Snow Leopard on an external drive.

Up and running Diablo 2 now:

if you have mac specs like this

Mac Required Specs for D3
  • Mac® OS X 10.7.x or newer
  • Intel® Core 2 Duo
  • 2 GB RAM
  • NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 330M or ATI Radeon™ HD 4670 or better
you can surely run D3 on it.

If you use crossover, then you are running the Windows one?

No issues with the graphics then in crossover?

I have heard that the beta is not running well on Mac (go check out the Mac forums -- it is all people complaining).  I expect they will address the performance issues and have it corrected for launch.

So it was a good idea not to upgrade, after all. If you use crossover, then yes, it is a windows one. Not sure what mac you have, but bootcamp is always a good choice, when you want to play games.

Blizzard officially listed the MacBook Air (or better said the integrated graphics in the sandy bridge) as playable. I tried it on an older Macbook Pro  (9400M) and with lowest settings there where about 10fps.

Having a late 2010 iMac so it should be up for the job.

Never liked the idea of running my games under BootCamp. Always gives me a feeling of being lost on my good old Mac system.

Runs nice on my iMac late 2010. No Problems except some lags during the single player mode (no internet), what is kind of strange. But overall it works quite well.

No Parallels needed, there's a MAC version!

Edit: No Lion, still snow leopard.

Not running well on Mac? Bummer.

WoW and SC2 both run fairly well, so I'm guessing it's just a beta thing at this point.

I use Crossover to play Diablo 2 on my Macbook. The only problem was figuring out how to install the game itself via Crossover.

running Parallels over Mac means you have 2 operating systems sharing the same cpu so I would suggest Bootcamp. in my old macbook pro, Diablo 2 runs smooth on windows (bootcamped), but with some odds on mac because the code of the game is not native intel mac. Hope the new Diablo 3 will have the same performances and stability win/mac .
