I doubt they would make this cause blizzard is already coming out with their own dota

A DOTA side game would be fun, I would enjoy it and I reckon it could work. It would break up the main game a bit, I would play it just to play diablo 3 without actually playing diablo 3

I believe Guild Wars 2 are planning on implementing this feature. Could be cool. Not quite sure how it would work though, a few of the mechanics wouldn't translate very well.

Love dota games, its really challenging and fun when you're with a group of talented individuals that know what they're doing.  They would have to tie it into some aspect of the lore though, I really hate it when game modes are thrown into the mix purely to cater to a different demographic of players.  Feels cheap in my opinion.

Well, maybe this isn't right because Diablo has an entirely way of play design for combine with the game theme: Hack and slash, kick demons asses and this stuff. A DOTA mode in Diablo would be the same as a FDP mone in WoW: Simply doesn't matches!

This is unreal, BUT, this can work, you know, a new game, specific for this kind of gameplay!
Now, Diablo is Diablo, hack and slash, demons and blood is what we need! :D

think the dota idea would be ideal for a custom map created by the people that develop it. you be able to integrate not only heros spells but the npc skills with different skins, so yeah i think it might match up to something nice.

DOTA is perfect as it is, map for strategy games ... I think it'd ruin Diablo.

I would love a future possibility of a dota mode. I've messed with dota in my past wc3 and ft accounts in custom games and find the, quite enjoyable. I think it'd be a great future addition!
